Apart from the subjects normally covered, topics related with the theme Advanced Research and Industrial Adaptation will receive due emphasis.

This theme will enable academia the industry and the research institutions to showcase the different technological developments successfully undertaken by them. The Conference will bring out how Theory of the Academia is/can be adapted to the shop floor scenario. Issues and experiences in up-scaling of sheet metal technologies for mass production cost effectively with the desired precision, would benefit all stakeholders alike.

In a developing economy like India, up-scaling of innovative technologies, which is a challenge in itself , remains a weak link between the R&D and its commercial application. The Conference will enable presentation of innovative technologies and promote deliberations on its application in the Industrial scenario.

In addition to invited talk and key note lectures from eminent speakers, SMF ‘2022 will introduce, for the first time in our programs, a research symposium and a workshop . In the symposium, invited and contributory research will be presented by researchers from across the community. In the workshop dedicated lectures on fundamentals of sheet metal forming and simulation software will be delivered by faculty members from academia and industrial R & D. The workshop will be conducted on the eve of the conference.
